Rice Pilaf (rate this recipe)

Ingredients:

1/3 C. Orzo
1 C. Long Grain White Rice
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 1/2 C. water
2 tsp. chicken flavor base
1/8 tsp. tumeric
1/4 tsp. ground sage
1 tsp. Dijon mustard
4 Tbs. butter
2 C. sliced Mushrooms (optional)
1 Tbs. dried parsley (can use fresh if you have it on hand)
Directions:

Measure dry spices and place in small dish or ramekin.
Heat water to boiling and add mustard and chicken stock base. Stir well. Set aside.
Melt butter in saucepan on medium heat.
Add orzo. Stir until browned.
Add rice, water, mushroom (if using) and spices.
Heat to boiling, lower heat to simmer, cover and cook 20-25 minutes.
Fluff with a fork when done.
